President Dennis Kinyon called the meeting to order.

Madigan/Kottke motioned to approve the January 16, 2017 Board of Education Meeting Minutes.  Motion carried 7-0

Administrative news updates were given.

Mrs. Jenson’s physics students, Cassidy and Cayley Vande Berg demonstrated their catapults.

Riedeman/Madigan motioned to approve vouchers 98204-98387, ACH payments 00091-00092, and wire transfers 1706-1722.  Motion carried 7-0

Jen Post provided Financial and Cash Summary reports.

DMulder/Barbeau motioned to select Trane as the district’s energy performance contractor (ESCO).  Motion carried 7-0

Plans to meet WIAA required CPR/AED and First Aid Training for head coaches were discussed.

DMulder/Madigan motioned to approve one (1) day professional leave for paid high school coaches to attend state competitions.  Motion carried 7-0

Riedeman/Barbeau motioned to approve changes to 2017-2018 Middle School Athletic Code as presented.  Motion carried 7-0

Kottke/Basler motioned to approve the donations A-G (Lemmenes Custom Farms, Thrivent Financial, Buffalo Wild Wings, Brandon Store, Tony Walters, Brad Marchant, Brandon Methodist Church).  Motion carried 7-0

Madigan/Kottke motioned to approve personnel items A-I (Ter Beest, Weber, Johnston, McCauley, Haensgen, Marchant, Challoner, Becker, Haensgen) Motion carried 7-0

Riedeman/Barbeau motioned to approve the following Guiding Principles of Teacher Compensation Plan.  Motion carried 7-0

  • Attract and retain quality teachers
  • Promote collaboration focused on student success
  • Recognize student growth and achievement
  • Promote professional development/certification in district identified priority areas (certain science, special education, Reading Specialist, Interventionist, AAE coach)
  • Recognize teacher’s positive contribution to overall school environment: Class Advisors, PDP Reviewer, MLP Site-Based Coaches, Other Leadership Roles etc.)

Barbeau/Kottke motioned to adjourn open session and convene into closed session for the purpose of discussing personnel performance, review, and staffing, and wages Wis. Stat. 19.85(1)(c). Motion carried by roll call vote, 7-0

Kottke/Barbeau motioned to reconvene into open session. Motion carried by roll call vote, 7-0

Riedeman/DMulder motioned to split Brandon 2017-2018 First Grade class into two sections.  Motion carried 7-0

Kottke/Madigan motioned to adjourn.  Motion carried 7-0
